We’re getting married in a marquee in a field – where will you cook?

Ideally we need a catering tent, power and some water and from that we can hire items to create a kitchen. To make things easier it is always beneficial for the catering space to be in the immediate vicinity of the marquee to allow for quick and efficient movement between areas.  

Do you just do fish?


Fish is where we started and working with local small boats is important to us but we are passionate about creating different dishes using meat and veg. Because we create all of our dishes from scratch we  can happily tweak menus and dishes to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements.

How far will you travel in the UK?

We are happy to travel to any location across the UK but we do charge a mileage fee for venues over 25 miles from our base in North Devon to cover fuel and transport costs.

Can you help us with drinks service and/or the bar?

We can happily offer staff for drinks service before, during and after your meal and a full bar set up on request.  Let us know your requirements and we’ll put together a quote for you.

Do we have to have a sit down 3 course meal?

No you don’t have to – it's your wedding! There are lots of options from street food, bowl food, canape receptions to just enjoying a main course and some pud.

Can I taste the food before the wedding

Yes, we love to meet people and can happily provide tasting sessions from our base in Ilfracombe or at a venue of your choice on request.  Tasting sessions are charged at £150 to allow a selection of dishes from your potential menu.  This charge is fully refundable from your bill should you choose to book us for your catering.

Buffets are always a bit beige aren’t they? Will everyone be full?

Not at Seadog! Our buffet options are big, bold and colourful with globally inspired dishes, innovative salads and sides. Served from laden platters and decorated with home grown edible flower garnishes, alongside artisan breads and local salad greens, our buffets provide a real spectacle for the eyes and the belly!  We always provide a bit more for those with a bigger appetite to return for seconds, or even thirds!

We want to keep it simple, what do you recommend?

This can really depend on the venue you have in mind but for a simple spread we suggest a range of our canapes served with your welcome drinks followed by a bounteous buffet and perhaps a dessert station for something sweet to finish.  Alternatively you could go for a mains option, followed by tea and coffee and your wedding cake finished off with a selection from our award winning street food menu to keep your guests fuelled for dancing into the early hours!

Do your prices include service too?

Yes, our prices include all food service on the day; from canapes right through to evening food.  

How many canapes can I expect per person?

We suggest you choose 6 canapes from our menu, with a mixture of hot and cold items being the preferred option. Your guests can expect 6-8 large canapes each. 

Do your prices include cutlery and crockery?

Our prices do not include cutlery an crockery (with the exception of serving dishes and spoons used for the sharing starters and mains options as detailed in the T&C’s document).  We can however provide a quote for all your needs on this front to include crockery, cutlery, glassware and linen as well as larger pieces of equipment such as fridge trailer hire on request.

How long should we allow for the wedding breakfast?

For a 3 course dinner with speeches we recommend you allow 2 – 2 and a half hours in total.
